Took a short out-of-town excursion to Batangas City, and we landed at the Pontefino Hotel around lunchtime. The Robusta coffee shop has been a long favorite of Vicky's since the food is practically the same as that of its sister outlet, Chateau 1771 (Ortigas Center).
Of course the first dish to be ordered was the kare-kare, the all-time favorite. The grilled bangus belly was nicely done, and we had boiled veggies and pancit to round up our meal, Simply couldn't resist the crispy pata! We debated on it for a couple of moments, and finally decided to order it too!
Monique and Andrea then worked up a mini photo shoot at the poolside, and by 2:30 pm, we were headed back to Manila. Spent something like P700 per head. The hotel has some of the best room accommodations in Batangas City, so if you are doing business in the area (say the port), then this is the hotel of choice.
