Elements Mall

It's a very convenient mall to shop in, with practically everything you need in one place.  Elements Mall is located at the lower floors of the International Commerce Centre Complex on Austin Road in Tsim Sha Tsui.  The kids just loved shopping for clothes and taking candid photos, and the smile on Andi's face as we roamed around with her cousins just made my day!

Citygate Outlet Mall

D' Mall

Boracay has indeed changed so much.  Ultra-commercialized, I think.  I remember that it was sparsely populated and pristine in early nineties.  Going around what seemed to be the retail nerve center of the island, a cluster of shops called D' Mall in Station 2, was a very illuminating experience for me.  It was supposed to be the low season, but the place was teeming with tourists from all over the world.   I understand that at night, the whole place turns into one giant party zone.

UP Town Center

The old UP Integrated School is no more.  In its place is the UP Town Center, put up by the Ayala Malls on a 100 year lease from what I understand.  The mall has been continuously growing, with more shops and a department store now open.  I hear that theaters are coming up soon.  On school days, the place is populated by students from the Ateneo, UP and Miriam (formerly Maryknoll).  Quite congested with carloads of entire clans on weekends and holiday, so better be early.  Progress, progress!

The District - Imus

The mini-malls of the Ayala group seem to be sprouting up in lots of places.  After looking at some property over at the Daanghari stretch, we had a fast lunch at the District Mall in Imus.   The mall is big enough to have a variety of stores and restaurants, yet fits on much less land area to keep overhead costs to a minimum.  Plenty of greens, ample parking, good locations.

Fairview Terraces Mall

I love the Ayala Fairview Terraces Mall!  The grounds are so relaxing to stroll in.  The mall is just the right size, not too big to be tiring nor too small to be boring.  Enough eateries and specialty stores.  Just right for the me. We went to take a look with Becca and her family, and maybe I'll take my sisters to see the place one day.

Crescent Mall

I love observing the transformation of a city.  New housing zones become populated, a flurry of construction activity is evident, and world-class concepts just keep coming in.  We visited the Crescent Mall, which is the retail cornerstone of the Phu My Hung development in District 7, Saigon South.  While the mall had little foot traffic (we were there on a weekday), I was quite pleased to see several international brands.

I love the aquarium at the base of their escalator!  Such a wonderful idea, a visual respite from the city concrete.

I was told that the Phu My Hung township encompasses some 400 hectares of riverside property, and I was amazed with the beauty of the modern cityscape blending with the river view.  Definitely something that local master planners can emulate.
