Monkey Shoulder

Blazing fire water, that Monkey Shoulder!  The whisky gets its name from the strain injury that malt men get from turning barley for years.  Not too expensive, yet carries some sassy smoothness and a mean punch... We finished a whole bottle of the darn thing when an old buddy flew into town from Vancouver.  Just like old times...

Senorita

My easy go-to bakery for simple ensaymada, Senorita bakeshop is located in Robinson's Townville along Regalado Avenue.  Can't go wrong with the reasonable prices.

Steak Escape

They probably have one of the cheapest steak menus in the Metro.  Seriously, this franchise has been around since as long as I can remember, and you can still find their stalls at the Landmark in Makati and at the Gateway Mall in Cubao.  For P150, the quality of course is nothing like graded beef, but I remember a time when my student budget could only afford their rice meals (served sizzling on a grill plate).  Good times!
