Orange Swits
The original candy was named Orange Kisses, but I don't see that anymore. It was shaped like an orange slice and has a gummy bear consistency. Orange Swits is the local version, I guess. You probably won't find this in the supermarkets, but if you commute, any side stall near jeepney sakayans will most probably have them.Saturday, May 3, 2014

Made in Candy
The candy man can cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good...
When we were young, there was a song about the candy man. On its face value, the song was pretty much suited for grade school children, but when we got to high school, there was some implied twist to the lyrics. We would read about the phenomenon of Woodstock and the resulting brownies that were mixed with love and REALLY tasted good. As Monique and I walked past the Made in Candy stall at the Rockwell Power Plant Mall, I couldn't help but remember those wild party days and the connotation associate with candy. This Singaporean franchise, however, makes true candy like no other, and showcases such wonderful sugary creations, all made right in front of you. These artisans really know how to make it look so easy, and the resulting confections look like glass sculptures and have a wide variety of flavors (I like the watermelon candy). Around P100 to P300 depending on the size of the bottle; you can have your favorite flavors and color combinations done, all made to order.
