PAGSS Lounge

I was early at the NAIA, arriving there at 6pm for my 11pm flight to Istanbul.  I was quite lucky that I had the chance to rest at the airport lounge after the usual check-in procedures.  Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions (PAGSS) operates a lounge at the fourth floor of Terminal 3.  The lounge is small but comfortable enough, and I was happy that the Wi-Fi was fast and easy to access.  You have the usual snacks and plenty of beverages.  The lounge is quiet and has a relaxed atmosphere.

Katherine's Cafe

Monique's friend had left for the airport, and after a long night of drinking with another friend, she agreed to have a quick hot meal for brekky.  Luckily, we found Katherine's Cafe at the ground level of the Vertis compound in Quezon City.  As we entered, we were glad to find that the interiors were cozy and comfortable.  We decided to share some mushroom soup, vongole pasta and shepherd's pot pie.  Serving portions are adequate and prices are reasonable given the quality of the ingredients and the level of service; expect to spend something like P400 per person for a quick bite.

The restaurant owners obviously draw inspiration from Julia Child, and you can see that in the decor, the bright ambiance, the good service and most especially in the food.  In my book, they get an outright A!

Chocfull of Nuts

Kuilan's Foodhaus

I don't recall ever having been to Kuilan's Foodhaus in Davao City, but I hear that the place is quite popular.  Vicky and Becca always make it a point to buy a box of their delicious siopao whenever they visit their hometown.  One can keep the siopao in the freezer for weeks and it'll be perfect with a 10 minute steaming.  I was assured that prices are very reasonable; the buns go well with an ice cold bottle of Coca-Cola!
