Marco Polo Prince

The Prince Hotel at the Harbor City used to be called the Omni Prince Hotel, but currently, it is billed as the Marco Polo Prince Hotel.  My sisters and I had a lot of good memories there, having stayed there several times in the late seventies and the early eighties.  It was a good experience for us, since the rooms were merely atop the mall--literally shop and drop, which was a wonderful thing for Michaela, Erica and Anita!  When Vicky and I however, went back in 1990, the place was already dated and the rooms were starting to show signs of wear and tear.  After that experience, we always booked on the island and Tsim Sha Tsui was no longer as attractive an option for us.  This trip, my friends convinced us to book once more on the Kowloon side, declaring that the recent renovation at the Prince had uplifted its status.  Of course, the location is still top-notch, just a brief stroll from the hustle and bustle of the side streets surrounding Nathan Road, and right beside the Star Ferry.  True enough, the room was elegant, with nary a trace of that noxious cigarette after burn.  Online rates go for around P11,000 per night, but if you book early, you might be able to get some discounts.
