Garden Cafe at the Luxent Hotel

Vicky, Monique and I went out for an impromptu dinner, and we decided to take a look at the relatively new Luxent Hotel along Timog Avenue, very near the corner of Tomas Morato St.  The hotel has been in operation for less than a year, and the Garden Cafe buffet is still available at the introductory price of P699 per person (50% off).  The Japanese section was quite good, both the salmon and the tuna sashimi were very fresh, and while the chef didn't use giant tiger prawns for the tempura, it was hot and crispy, and the size was not bad at all.  I wasn't too happy with the viands though, I had expected a good array of international dishes, but the theme of the night must have been Chinese.

The dessert section was amply stocked, and we enjoyed the fruits and the ice cream.  Overall, it was a buffet fit for its price bracket, and I don't see it being acceptable to the market at the supposed P1,398 per person that would be the regular meal price when the introductory period expires.

We took some time to tour the hotel facilities, and we could see that the rooms were very new and well-appointed (at the P4,000 to P5,000 range per night).  The pool was very inviting, even though we were full from from the dinner, I still had the urge to dive in.
