I don't know how to play card games, and I wouldn't know how to bet at slot machines. Now what would I be doing at the Solaire resort and casino in PAGCOR city? The answer is obvious--eat, eat, eat!
Our dinner at Fresh buffet restaurant with Vicky's friends started off with loads of salmon sashimi from the the Japanese section. Fresh and delectable! We moved on to some cold cuts from the Chinese cooking station--the roasted duck and the Hainanese chicken were quite good.
We made our presence felt at the seafood docks--the Alaskan crab was tender (and flavorful as I had mine cooked in garlic & butter), the prawns were very fresh, but I was a bit disappointed with the oysters which were not plump at all. Roxas City oysters are really plump and tasty, so I am not too sure if what the food attendants told me was accurate; the oysters might not have come from Roxas City.
I was delighted with the prosciutto and the roasted calf's leg. Yes, the picture below is accurate, it's really the whole leg, a giant leg at that!
Tried some Indian dishes too. The number of viands at the buffet spread can get you quite dizzy, and I sometimes I felt in a quandary as to what to choose next.
Very good gelato and sorbet! The pastry chef told me that these were made in-house, and I had a big smile on my face when we finished the meal with sweets. The buffet is one of the more expensive ones in town--costs something like P2,200 per head on a week night.
