Right after grocery, Monique and I had some quick afternoon snacks at Suzhou Dimsum at the Robinson's Otis Mall in Manila. We've seen this dimsum place along Mabini St. in San Juan, but we've never been to what we think is their main store. We over-ordered!
Like her mother, Monique loves tofu dishes, and the chilled tofu with mahu (pork floss) and century egg was a perfect starter for her. We had some beef noodle soup, which was my idea; the soup was hot and full of flavor, while the noodle texture was just right. The dumplings were not bad, but we were really disappointed with the siao long pao--this kept on sticking to the wax paper and once we'd pick it up, the dough would rip and the soup would all run out... sad thing, huhuhu... I guess this was over steamed or probably the consistency of the dough wasn't right. The soy chicken was not bad, but the presentation could have been improved--the plate was too small and the pieces were just piled up on top of each other. Budget came to around P400 per head, but note that we also had some take home from the excess food.
