Dumaguete Cathedral

The Dumaguete Cathedral is located along Gov. Perdices Street (formerly Alfonso XII Street) and travelling on foot, I passed by to pay respects to my paternal grandmother.  The church was first constructed in 1774 (oldest church in Negros), reconstructed in 1885 and extended to its present facade in 1936 (probably the belfry is the oldest standing structure).  If I understand it correctly, even my great-grandfather's remains are also rested at the adjoining crypts.  The Sunday morning mass was well attended; and the courtyard already had a festive summer atmosphere.
