Fit

Whatever happened to Fit, fruit and vegetable wash?  This was a product made by Procter and Gamble in the late nineties, and Gwammy would use this regularly at home.  I thought it was really neat since you could see that the rinse would be dirty, and the fruits and vegetables (specially lettuce) would really look like it had taken a bath!  Some say this was discontinued since it actually didn't work, and that rinsing in flowing tap water would have the same effect, but I could clearly see the cleansing power of the product.  I understand that Procter and Gamble didn't make enough profits from this product and the costs to register the product as a bacterial killer were simply unrealistic.  While reorganizing the kitchen at the main house, Michaela found a few remaining sachets (pictured above) and we had a fun time reminiscing about the good old days!
