Gavino's

Becca came home with a box of Gavino's Japanese mochi balls.  I think the donut and mochi ball stores have mushroomed like crazy, and their continued success seems to indicate that the craze is here to stay.  Gavino's kinda blends the two concepts--their mochi balls are shaped like mochi balls but instead of being made out of sticky rice, I think their balls are made from the usual dough.  Even then, the texture is gooey, chewy, quite different from other donuts; takes some getting used to for me.  It's not expensive, you can taste a lot of flavors with P100.
