Meeting up with old friends is quite relaxing, specially if you have a wonderful Chinese dinner coupled with some extra fine Japanese whiskey. This time around, my old buddy Eddie invited us for dinner at Choi Garden along Annapolis St. in Greenhills, and he brought along a bottle of 10 year old single malt from the Miyagikyo Distillery of Nikka Whiskey. I just loved this--sweet, clean, heavenly.
Another old classmate, Dindo, came in with a bottle of the Yamazaki, the top of the line single malt from Suntory. This was woodier, stronger, almost like firewater. I must say, these fine drinks make the bonds of friendship go stronger. As you grow older, you find out that gathering with old friends is such an enjoyable luxury you don't dare miss out...
Bottoms up!
