We rounded up the burger team and went straight to Robinson's Magnolia over the weekend. I promised the Callars that we'd visit a newly spotted burger place, so we crossed Hemady St. to have merienda at Good Burgers Cafe, just near the corner of Aurora Boulevard. No frills, the place is more like a take-out counter, and the spartan interiors made me think that people come to the place not for the ambiance but for the burgers.
As we approached the counter and read the menu, we realized that the patties were not made of beef. The counter lady explained that you have a choice of either chicken patties or veggie patties (probably mixed in with some soy protein). I was happy with the pricing. The best burgers were priced at the P100 level and for under P150 per person, you could be chomping away at a premium food & beverage combination (the one pictured below is a 3-cheese chicken burger). The aroma was delightful--enough to herald a bursting-at-the-seams tummy!
Monique was the only one who tried the veggie patty, and while it was okay, she took a bite out of my chicken burger and conceded that the chicken patties were tastier and better overall. Their Hemady branch has only been open for a couple of months, but I think the chain has other branches around the Metro.
