Burgoo



Burgoo has been around since the nineties, and it's nice to know that the place is still being patronized by the younger set.  One of their first outlets was the one along Tomas Morato, and when half of the place was closed (to give way to their sister restaurant, Boon Tong Kee), I thought that the restaurant had gone out of business.  When Ed and Korina arrived from Dumaguete, Monique and I took them to dinner in Burgoo.


The kids started off with fries and pizza.  The fries were drizzled in lots of cheese and bacon bits, kinda sloppy to eat, but still delicious.  The pizza was a meat pizza, hot and flavorful.



The combo platter came with shrimps and baby back ribs, soft and juicy, falling off the bone.  The shrimps were dry though, and I think the effect would have been better if they had used bigger shrimps (crisp on the outside but still juicy inside).  Jambalaya was the way I like it, sticky, salty and full of mixed seafood.  We wound up the meal with some chicken fajitas, we were so full, and just had to take the fajitas home in a bag.  Expect to spend something like P500 per head here, although if you would take some alcohol and desserts, the spend would probably be at the level of around P700 per head.
