The Tea Republic is one of the older tea shops in town; I seem to recall that this tea salon was already up and running almost a decade ago, way before the milk tea craze that swept the city in 2011. The branch at the ground floor of the Pacific Star Building along Buendia Avenue was a favorite meeting place of some of my friends in real estate brokerage. Last week, another broker friend scheduled a meeting there, and we had light afternoon snacks. I was a bit disappointed--my berry tea didn't taste freshly brewed--it was more like artificial flavoring and sugar (around P100). In fairness, my friend had spaghetti and she told me that it wasn't bad.Wednesday, May 15, 2013
