Ba Noi's

Monique, Vicky and I were one of the last customers of the Ba Noi's restaurant in Legaspi Village; I understand that sometime last week the restaurant moved to its new location somewhere in the Kapitolyo area.  This restaurant is not a fast food pho house; it serves the whole range of Vietnamese food, from appetizers to desserts.  We wound up spending some P600 per person, but we took advantage of full course--

We tried both their fresh and fried spring rolls, and I must admit that I like the fried version much better--tasty and crunchy.  The seafood noodle soup came with the usual toge, cilantro and lemon slices; the broth was good but I think the stock was chicken, and the seafood bits were merely added on as garnishing.

The stir-fired honey spiced beef was A-1 though, and the braised pork with hard-boiled eggs was soft and right to the bite.  We also ordered sauteed bokchoy and fried rice, nothing great about these--didn't stand out as Vietnamese food, and tasted just like the Chinese version.

Monique still had space after the big meal, and she decided to have a mocha mix to cap her dinner!  Interiors are cozy and welcoming, and we noticed that there was a steady flow of customers (we came in at almost 8 pm, and when we left at 9:30 pm, some people were still coming in for dinner and take-out).
