Balikbayan Handicrafts

My cousin Caren and her hubby Pete flew in from Switzerland, and I didn't know where to take them to buy some Filipino handicrafts.  We were in the Makati area, and I didn't want to drive all the way to Quiapo (right under the bridge, the traditional shopping place for these items).  It's a good thing that Anita thought of Balikbayan Handicrafts, located along Pasay Road.  They have all sorts of local items, from wood carvings, barong tagalog, home decor with capiz inlay, pearls, paintings, and even furniture!  These come from all over the Philippines, and all items can be shipped anywhere, with just a little added cost.  I quickly learned that some of these items could be found in both SM and Rustan's, but this store is truly a specialty shop--the whole 3-storey building is a giant display area!
