Curry Bee

It was a Sunday night and we were supposed to eat in the new pizza place at the Blue Bay Walk.  We arrived something like 8pm, and it was full.  There were no seats inside the house, and the few parasol-covered seats that were available right outside the air-conditioned dining area was too small for our group of eleven.  We had to find an alternative, given the grumbly condition of our tummies.  The Curry Bee looked like a viable alternative--everyone was agreeable to eating Japanese in lieu of pizza, and the place had enough seating for our big group.

As you can see from the wealth of pictures, we didn't waste any time choosing items on the menu.  Monique and Angela took some rice bowls with tonkatsu and unagi while Biboy, Bitoy and Kikoy ordered some tako balls and udon.  Vicky and Becca tried the crab roe salad, chicken karaage and the curry tonkatsu.  We all shared the gyoza, which was tasty and freshly cooked.  Someone had noodle soup (it looks milky but doesn't really have any milk in it), while I stuck to curry udon served with ebi tempura.  It was a blast!

Turns out, we didn't mind the initial disappointment at not being able to have pizza for dinner.  The Curry Bee food was delicious and priced just right; we spent something like P500 per head.  We learned from the service staff that this was the initial branch of the restaurant outside Hong Kong, and it seems that a few more local branches are being planned.
