EDSA Shangri-la

Monique and I met up with Eddie, Renee and Korina at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel, where they stayed to celebrate the coming of the Year of the Horse.  The Dragon Dance started promptly at 11 am, and we managed to wiggle our way through the thick crowd that gathered to greet the Lunar New Year.  However, after around 30 minutes of listening to all the drum beating and the clanging of the cymbals, our ears were ready to pop.  Luckily, their room was already ready for check-in, and we were able to rest our ears for a bit in the serenity of the newly renovated room at the Tower wing of the hotel (I understand that the local rate comes to just around P9k for a night).  The renovation is tastefully done, hallways are bright and room amenities are easily available; even the carpet has a thick underlay that has a cushion-like bounce when you walk barefoot.  I like the color scheme, cozy, feels so much like home!
