Kong Kong, Gwammy, Michaela, Annika and I went to see the SM Aura Mall over the holidays, and we paid a fast visit to the Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod over at the top deck. San Pedro Calungsod is the second Filipino saint, having been canonized just a couple of years ago. It's a good thing that the SM Malls have chapels for people to pause and reflect; despite the seeming inconsistency of commercialism and prayer, I think the local mall operators have managed to get the blend-in just fine. As you can see in the picture, the interiors are simple yet avant garde--this somehow reminded me of The Time Tunnel (a TV show in the late sixties starring James Darren and Lee Meriwether).Tuesday, February 4, 2014
