Bagong-Soy

Mikaela has a friend that makes Obra Kusina's Bagong-Soy, which is a vegetarian alternative to bagoong. Yes, you read that right, as in bagoong alamang (shrimp paste).  It's actually made from salted soy bits, but I must say I couldn't appreciate it much, being the alamang lover that I am.  Mimics well, so it goes heartily with green mangoes and kare-kare, but for me, the oomph was not there (of course, it's not made from ground shrimps).  For vegetarians and those who have allergies, however, this is probably as close you can get to the real thing.  Under P200 a bottle, I gather.
