Vicky came home with Aling Dading's bibingka, a gift from one of her clients. Since I haven't heard of these rice cakes, Vicky quickly explained that Aling Dading has been around since the pre-war days. Cakes are solid, not fluffy, and the burnt scent of banana leaves greets you as you open the box. This is the traditional bibingka--simpler, not overly decorated with cheese and salted duck eggs. Unfortunately I have no idea where to get them or how much they cost.
