Kuya J

More Mega Mall adventures at Kuya J.  My companions had seen the ads of Phil Younghusband and Jericho Rosales for this restaurant, and were anxious to try the food.  We quickly learned that the restaurant started off in Cebu, and now the brand has come to Manila.

I must admit that the adobong pusit was quite good.  Not too much vinegar.  The portion sizes, however, are good for just one person, so the waiter advised us to get three dishes.  We also had humba (sweet pork stew, which was a bit too sweet for me), and sisig (chopped pig cheeks, grilled to sizzle and topped with raw egg), which was piping hot when it arrived.  The sisig wasn't bad at all.

The restaurant had very clean and classy interiors, which I liked.  This was a far cry from the dimly lit and greasy feel of the usual grill joints.  Big plus for me.  Average spend would be around P400 per person, and it's better to come in groups so that you can have a variety of orders to share family style.
