Vicky, Monique and I recently tried Nikkei, a Japanese-Peruvian restaurant along Rada St., in Legaspi Village. They serve traditional sushi, and also thinly-sliced Peruvian cuts, with some ceviche (kinilaw) to make the fusion menu complete. I liked the foie gras sushi, although I knew it would be a big no-no for my uric acid problem.
We also had some lomo saltado and grilled pork belly. The style is quite a good fusion of sorts, but I felt that the serving portions were meek and shy. Or was I just too hungry? Prepare to spend at least P800 per person in order to enjoy the sushi and ceviche offerings, which are the true stars of their menu.
