Matalino St. has always been a busy short strip. From the Heart Center, through Sulo Hotel and all the way up to Trellis and Puregold, the street is lined with a plethora of banks, offices, restaurants, spas, gyms and drug stores. Monique and I walked from the main house to Red Hana, a little Japanese food house, just to satisfy our craving for some sushi.
The lighting inside is on the dim side, and don't expect much ambiance; the store caters to people on the go (mostly from the City Hall and the Heart Center). Gyoza wasn't bad, but I found the sushi rice too sweet for my taste. The tuna and salmon slices were slightly soggy, but edible nonetheless. The seafood ramen dish came in hot, but I was expecting a bit more shrimps, squid and less fish balls. Flavor was acceptable though. Bring around P250 per person, but if you are on a budget, you can make do with P150 per head.
