The last time we siblings ate in Mario's we merely met over a quick breakfast. This time, we're preparing for Kong's 93rd birthday, and we deemed it proper to have a feast over Sunday brunch! We are absolutely gaga over the menu--oysters, sashimi, salad, paella, cochinillo, lechon, callos, and roast turkey, among others!
At around P1,050 per person, the buffet is still competitive price-wise compared to the newer buffet restaurants in town. Food quality is still above average, and the interiors are clean, bright and well-kept. Cozy, homey ambiance, you feel like you are entertaining at home.
Their outlet along Session Road in Baguio is no longer there, but I think they transferred to a larger location a few minutes drive from Session Road. In the eighties, if I recall right, the group also operated a second outlet along Tomas Morato called Tamarind Grill, but this restaurant didn't last that long. I remember it well because Tamarind Grill usually had raclette, which was the favorite of Vicky's dad.
