Elements Mall
It's a very convenient mall to shop in, with practically everything you need in one place. Elements Mall is located at the lower floors of the International Commerce Centre Complex on Austin Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. The kids just loved shopping for clothes and taking candid photos, and the smile on Andi's face as we roamed around with her cousins just made my day!Cafe Deco Pizzeria
Our flight back to Manila was late at night, so we opted to have an early dinner at the Cafe Deco Pizzeria at the Elements Mall. The pizza isn't bad at all, Monique and I enjoyed most of it. Andi was happy with her seafood stew, while Vicky had a little of everything. Spent something like HK$150 per person. While I felt that the facade looked like an ordinary outdoor cafe, I loved the casual kitchen approach to the restaurant's interiors. I felt pretty much at home with the cozy feel.
Mix n Rice
I wanted to have some Vietnamese food, but Vicky insisted on going Korean. We found ourselves waiting in line at the doorstep of Mix n Rice along Observatory Road in TST. The shop owners were kind enough to bring out more seats for us (we were a group of 10). It was quite cold at 15 degrees celsius, so I killed time walking around, gaping (in awe) at the Audi race cars on display along Chatham Road.
The 30 minute wait was well worth it. The chap chae and the kalbi chim were especially memorable; I think they served the best Korean beef stew I have ever tried. It's just too bad that Tony decided to go somewhere else that night, and didn't enjoy the meal. I think Vicky paid something just under HK$150 per person, which I figured was a steal, given that we finished every morsel of every dish!
Wing Wah
More deli stuff Vicky loves. Known for its cakes and sausages, Wing Wah has been around for ages. Vicky loves to shop there for pasalubong items, and this time was no exception. My problem is that most items need to be hand carried, and to me, the stuff weighs a ton!Chan Kee Roasted Goose
Just around 5 minutes walk from Park Hotel, we found Chan Kee, a restaurant on Chatham Road serving roasted goose. Value-for-money roast goose, I might add. The meat is tender and while the skin wasn't as crispy as we would have wanted it to be, the whole experience was remarkable. The other viands we ordered were simple yet flavorful, and I was quite impressed with the discovery. I was happy that Monique and the Callar kids thoroughly enjoyed the dinner!
