Cabalen has been around for almost 30 years, and I seem to remember being invited there by my sister when it was newly opened along West Avenue. It was a popularly priced buffet restaurant capitalizing on the wealth of Pampagueno cuisine. I had a meeting there recently and I was surprised to find out that the buffet was priced less than P500 per person! Not bad at all, since the Pinoy favorites like dinuguan, kare-kare and menudo were all present. I was even surprised to find sushi on the appetizer table!
