Adam West passed away recently, and we all share the sense of loss. After all, he was the Caped Crusader of our generation, the gold standard of how a masked hero would uphold good values and fight for justice. He played the part with such ease, and the transition from Bruce Wayne (reality) to Batman (fantasy) and vice-versa carried over onto our own lives. We thus made sure we watched the program at the same Bat-time, on the same Bat-channel, week after week. I read somewhere that he was offered the role of James Bond once, but turned it down, believing that Bond should be portrayed by a British actor. And rightly so. He is not Bond; he will forever be our beloved Batman.
